WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - Three people died after a single-vehicle wreck in West Ashley early Sunday, authorities say.

Charles Francis, spokesman for Charleston Police Department, said the accident happened around 2:15 a.m. near the corner of Playground Road and White Drive, when the driver apparently lost control of the vehicle and struck a telephone pole.

The Charleston County Coroner's Office says Trevor Holmes, 37 of West Ashley and William Morton Jr. 35, of West Ashley were both pronounced dead on the scene. The third victim 32-year-old Tanz Scott of West Ashley was taken to MUSC where he later died from his injuries.

The Charleston Police Department is investigating the cause of this accident.
