Townhouse fire sends 1 into cardiac arrest

DORCHESTER COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - One person suffered cardiac arrest due to smoke inhalation following a fire in Dorchester County.

The Old Fort Fire Department responded to the scene along Reserve Way at around 7:30 Sunday morning, after light smoke was seen coming from the townhouse-type structure.

One person received medical assistance at the scene after suffering cardiac arrest due to smoke inhalation.  The victim's current condition is unknown.  Two adults and two children lived at the townhouse.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.
