Mt. Pleasant police have released a letter convicted pedophile Skip ReVille emailed to a group of parents one day prior to his arrest last fall.

In the letter dated October 27, ReVille stated "simple locker room fun among boys blew out of proportion quickly."

He described a number of games featuring inappropriate touching of private areas, and rationalized that "these games became a small part of the culture that [they] all became accustomed to, and [ReVille] did not pay much attention to the inappropriateness or harm."

The former Citadel cadet and area teacher and coach also described conversations he had with some of the boys and questions he answered. Among them, "How much is too much to masturbate?" "How far is too far to go with a girl?" and "Why is pornography wrong?"

ReVille also admitted struggles with suicidal pain, stating to parents, ‘you trusted me, you befriended me, and I betrayed you."

However, ReVille also argued he "did not instigate or initiate any of [the] games" and reiterates that in the time spent with the parents' sons, "95% was extremely healthy."

ReVille closed the letter by offering an apology, but also in pleading for their mercy.

You can read a copy of the letter in its entirety here.

ReVille was sentenced to 50 years in prison after pleading guilty to 22 child-sex charges in the Lowcountry in June.
