According to a report, the CAA has extended invites to Davidson and Charleston.
The Colonial Athletic Association could be closer to filling the void left by outgoing members VCU, OCU, and Georgia State.
Georgia Southern athletic director Sam Baker has told the Statesboro Herald that Davidson and the College of Charleston have been extended invitations from the CAA to join.
There is no official word from either university of the possibility of a move, although Davidson head basketball coach Bob McKillop has said repeatedly he doesn't see the Wildcats making any move.
If Charleston were to join it would give the league ten members and would help ease travel issues.
An announcement on the league expanding is likely to come the first week of August.
