WALTERBORO, SC (WCSC) - Walterboro Public Safety officers are investigating a string of break-ins that happened within a quarter mile area in Colleton County.
According to incident reports, an officer responded to four separate homes Tuesday morning after two homes and one car were broken into overnight. A resident from a third home told the officer their home was broken into on Friday, July 13.
Two homes were broken into on Black Street, and a car and a house were broken into on S. Memorial Avenue. The incident at the home on S. Memorial occurred on July 13.
Officers say the overnight break-ins occurred between 10:30 p.m. on July 16 and 7:30 a.m. on July 17.
The four victims were not able to provide a description of the suspect, as they say the incidents occurred while they were either asleep or not home.
At a residence on Black St., a report states that the suspect shattered a window with a frying pan to get into the home. Another victim said that when she got home, her back door was open.
Over $6000 in items were reported as stolen including televisions, jewelry, and purses.
