CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A restaurant opening in downtown later this summer is putting a female spin on steakhouses.
Burwell's Stone Fire Grill is undergoing construction at 14 Market Street as it prepares to open Charleston's "Female Steakhouse" according to the restaurants website.
Don't let that impression fool you, the site says "we can also assure that the men will be equally as pleased."
The goal of Burwell's is to stand out in Charleston, a top culinary destination, while offering a premium dining experience. The restaurant will pair melt-in-your-mouth prime-aged beef, fresh seafood, delicious deserts and cocktails with what they call a fresh and trendy spin.
To create a more female friendly steakhouse, Burwell's will offer an open, energetic and inviting setting. Instead of strictly serving giant steaks and bourbon, the steakhouse will also offer a number of smaller cuts of meats, including a Rib Eye Filet and Sirloin Filet, along with wine tastings.
While Burwell's was designed with the female in mind, the steakhouse claims it is a destination for both sexes that will feature a design contrast "specifically designed with the 'male-female' energy in mind." Giant steaks and bourbon will still be on the menu.
The two-story steakhouse will be open for lunch, dinner, and the bar will stay open for late night drinks. Happy Hour will run Monday through Friday from 4:30 to 7 p.m.
