Men accused in Folly Beach brawl ask for jury trial

FOLLY BEACH, SC (WCSC) - Five men accused in a brawl on Folly Beach on Fourth of July have asked for a jury trial.

The men were supposed to appear in court last Friday. A sixth suspect has asked for a continuance.

The men are facing various charges including disorderly conduct, inciting a riot and violating city ordinances.

The seventh suspect, 22-year-old Hunter Meadows, was charged with disorderly conduct and assault on police officers.

Four Folly Beach police officers and a Charleston County deputy were injured after police say they were hit with wiffle ball bats and had beer poured on them.
