Police arrest downtown store burglary suspect

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Investigators have arrested a man suspected of breaking into a downtown store and stealing two cash registers.

Charleston Police Department officials say 30-year-old James Blake surrendered to police late Monday.  He is charged with second-degree burglary.

On the morning of July 16, police responded to the Fudgery on North Market Street in reference to a burglary.

Police say Blake broke into the business and stole two cash registers.  Officials say Blake was actually already on probation for a strong armed robbery at the time of the incident.
