CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission (CCPRC) is asking for community input in deciding the future of Lowcountry parks.
The Parks for Tomorrow public initiative will create a new Parks, Recreation and Trails Master Plan to prioritize the needs and desires of the community for upgrading existing parks and creating new ones. Public workshops will be held at various schools on July 24-26 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Officials say public input is an important part of the process in deciding what to do with the CCPRC's recently purchased properties throughout the county.
The Parks, Recreation and Trails Master Plan will outline the phasing, timing, funding and other details for future projects that will take place over the next ten years.
A survey is also being conducted amongst households within the community. Results from the survey will be used in the community input phase.
Public Workshop Dates (all workshops will be held from 7-8:30 p.m.):
