Geoffrey Gilbert pitched 4 no-hit innings with 11 K's as West Ashley won their first elimination game of the Southeast Regional 6-1 over Fairview on Saturday.
Gilbert only walked 2 batters, then closer Stephen Holderness came on to pitch the final 2 innings in the victory. Chai Kirchstein led the way offensively going 3-3 from the plate.
Earlier in the day, West Ashley lost their final game of pool play to Matthews, NC 10-7. Gilbert had 3 hits but it wasn't enough.
