Davis Law Group offers up to $1,000 reward for information leading to arrest of hit-and-run drivers

Seattle, WA (PRWEB) July 30, 2012

According to the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, 11 percent of all motor vehicle accidents nationwide involve a hit-and-run driver. To help reverse this trend and bring justice to car accident victims in Washington State the team at Seattle personal injury law firm Davis Law Group are offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and felony conviction of a hit-and-run driver.

The Davis Law Group Hit-And-Run Rewards Program is part of a partnership between the Seattle law firm and the WeTip Crime Hotline, an independent third-party organization acting as a conduit for people to anonymously alert authorities about the details of a crime.

“To make Washington roadways safer we want hit-and run offenders off the streets. My hope is that fewer offenders will leave the scene of a traffic collision if they know they will be reported by the concerned citizens who witness the accident,” said Davis Law Group founder Chris Davis. “Our goal is to stop hit-and-runs by providing a means and an incentive for citizens to turn in hit-and-run offenders.”

The occurrence of hit-and-run accidents in the United States has become more and more frequent in recent years. According to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA), the number of hit-and-run incidents involving pedestrians increased by 20 percent between 2000 and 2005. The administration also claims that one in five pedestrian fatalities is caused by a hit-and-run driver.

The Davis Law Group’s Hit-And-Run Rewards Program offers those with knowledge of a crime the opportunity to anonymously report it to the proper authorities. Many experts say that anonymity and incentive are two of the greatest influencers in reporting a crime.

“Anonymous reporting is the only safe way for an informant to give information without fear of reprisal or having to testify,” Davis added.

All residents of Washington State are urged to call the hotline with information regarding any hit-and-run accident in the state. All callers will be asked if they would like a reward pending the arrest and felony conviction of the suspect. WeTip’s toll-free Crime Hotline can be reached at 1-800-644-8678.
