N. Charleston police officer fired following report of misconduct

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - North Charleston Police officials say an officer has been fired from the department following a report of misconduct.

On July 23, Kenneth Ford was terminated by the North Charleston Police Department for misconduct.

Authorities say that around 9 p.m. on July 18, a citizen contacted the department to report an incident of misconduct by officer Ford.

The Office of Professional Standards received and reviewed the complaint. On July 20, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division was then contacted to conduct an investigation into the citizen complaint.

SLED is continuing the investigation.
