Voters head to the polls Tuesday for James Island special election

JAMES ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - Voters will head to the polls Tuesday to vote in a special election on James Island.

There are seven candidates running for four town council seats. On the ballot are Mary Beth Berry, Leonard Blank, Marilyn Clifford, Sandi Engelman and Sam Kernodle.

Also running for a council seat are Darren Mullinax and Linda Womack. Former mayor Bill Woolsey is running unopposed in Tuesday's election.

In April, for the fourth time, voters approved making James Island its own town.
