ST. HELENA ISLAND, SC (WTOC) -
Beaufort County Sheriff's Office is investigating a domestic stabbing death that took place at approximately 8:25 p.m. Aug. 3 at 9 Bushivy Lane on St. Helena Island.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that Gennece Green, 43, stabbed her brother Desmond Holmes, 34, with a knife during a physical altercation on the porch of their mother's residence.
Holmes was transported to the Beaufort Memorial Hospital by Beaufort County EMS and was later pronounced dead.
Police have collected evidence and Green and other witnesses were interviewed. At this time, Green has not been charged in the death of Holmes.
The incident is still under investigation. A forensic autopsy has been scheduled by the Beaufort County Coroner's Office and will be performed Aug. 4 at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
