More suspects charged in West Ashley armed robbery

WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston Police Department has arrested two more people in connection with an armed robbery at an apartment complex in West Ashley.

Investigators charged 24-year-old Levi Singleton and 25-year-old Alyssa Gibson with armed robbery and conspiracy to commit a felony. Both are being held in the Al Cannon Detention Center.

Authorities say Singleton and Gibson are accused of being involved in the planning and execution of a May 3 armed robbery. Police say Gibson was initially reported as a victim in the robbery.

The robbery happened around 2:50 a.m. when two women were reportedly robbed as they were entering an apartment at Castlewood Apartments at 2535 North Castle Lane.

The U.S. Marshals Task Force arrested 20-year-old Demetrius Burks on July 24 in Towson, Md. and is charged with two counts of armed of armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime in connection to the May 3 robbery.

Burks was locked up at the Al Cannon Detention Center. Police are continuing the investigation.
