Downtown murder suspect surrenders to authorities

A 26-year-old man accused in a fatal downtown shooting has surrendered to Charleston police.

The Charleston Police Department says William Lamont Seabrook of Columbia surrendered to police Monday afternoon and has been charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

Seabrook is being held in the Al Cannon Detention Center.

On July 14 around 2 a.m., police responded to calls about shots fired in the area of 703 King Street.

Police officers arrived on scene and found the victim, 27-year-old DeAndre Bradley, shot several times. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS.

"They had been arguing for a few months back and forth," said Cpl. Fred Bowie of the Charleston police. "They know each other well and had some disagreement and just couldn't settle it any other way."

Bradley was featured last week in Live 5's Most Wanted.
