Dorchester District 2 holding special meeting on building tax

DORCHESTER COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - The Dorchester District 2 School Board is holding a special meeting on Wednesday about a referendum for the November ballot.

It will ask voters if they are willing to pay more in taxes so the school district can pay for $177 million in building plans.

Wednesday's closed-door session will focus on how to word that question for the ballot.

The tax money would build three new elementary schools, a new middle school, new vocational wings and fund renovations at eight other schools.
