Roadside vendors need license to sell PGA tickets

WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - Getting tickets to this weekend's PGA Championship could be as easy as getting into your car.

Roadside vendors are springing up West of the Ashley and on Johns Island.

We found them setup under small tents on Savannah Highway at Savage Road and on Main Road.

The vendors are required to have business licenses.

The vendor on Main Road decline to tell us is he had one.

While we were there, he told someone two tickets for  $80 dollars that would go for $100 at face value.

The man selling tickets on Savannah Highway applied for a business license, according to a City of Charleston official.

Off camera, that vendor told us he buys the golf tickets at a discounted price and then resells them at discount or face value.

South Carolina law does not allow roadside vendors to sell them at inflated prices.
