Man charged after N. Charleston stabbing

NORTH CHARLESTON (WCSC) - North Charleston police arrested a man after a stabbing occurred during a fight outside a home on Nesbit Avenue Thursday night.

According to the incident report, the altercation began when 40-year-old Julius Washington Jr. walked up to a home in the 4900 block of Nesbit Avenue and told the resident that he was going to "shoot [his] house up."

The resident told officers he walked outside to confront Washington and a fight ensued, during which Washington cut the resident on the left arm, left side, and struck him on the left eyebrow.

The report states the resident fought back, causing Washington to receive "a puncture wound to the left side of the face." Washington then fled the scene, but while police were searching the area for him, he walked up and surrendered at Rivers Avenue and Rebecca Street.

Washington and the resident were treated for injuries by EMS. Washington was charged with first degree assault and battery.
