MT. PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - Mount Pleasant Town Council will consider the annexation of several hundred acres of land targeted for development during a meeting on Tuesday.
Developers for Oyster Point are pushing for annexation of the land near Six Mile Road and North Palmetto Fort Drive. The plans call for 600 homes, along with marsh and trail access points.
If annexation is approved, sewer, water, and public safety protection would become Mt. Pleasant's responsibility.
Developers for Oyster Point are also pushing for rezoning in order to build the homes in closer proximity to one another.
