CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Julia Child is being celebrated in Charleston on what would be her 100th birthday.
Noted Charleston chef Robert Dickson is scheduled to share his personal memories of Child from their days in Cambridge, Mass., on Wednesday at the Charleston Library Society.
Child died in 2004.
Dickson is prominent in his own right. For more than 30 years he was proprietor of Robert's of Charleston where he provided guests with gourmet meals while singing as the courses were served. He retired from that career at the end of 2009.
The Charleston Library Society is the oldest library in the South dating to 1748.
