Suspected drug dealers rounded up in undercover operation

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

Investigators arrested three suspected drug dealers after an undercover police operation in North Charleston.

The North Charleston Police Department conducted the operation on Wednesday in the Oakgrove community and the Chicora-Cherokee neighborhood.

Police charged 20-year-old Deante Martez Baptiste and 38-year-old Robert Washington with distribution of cocaine base and distribution of cocaine base near a school.

Authorities also charged 23-year-old Santerrius Montrel King with distribution of cocaine base, distribution of cocaine base near a school, possession with intent to distribute cocaine base and possession with intent to distribute cocaine base near a school.

Richard Randolph, 36, was also arrested in the operation and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

All suspects were locked up at the Charleston County Detention Center.
