WALTERBORO, SC (WCSC) - A dog was placed under quarantine last week after biting a 5-year-old boy on the head in Walterboro, a report states.
Walterboro Public Safety officers responded to the Colleton Medical Center on Aug. 16 after receiving reports of a dog bite.
The report states the boy's grandmother took a 121-pound St. Bernard in as a rescue from Molly's Militia in Aiken about a week prior. The child's mother said her son and another child were playing with the dog when it grabbed him by the head.
The boy suffered lacerations to his forehead and ear, but was treated at the hospital and will fully recover.
The incident happened at 401 Black Street.
The dog's status is unknown at this point.
