Charleston Co. school board member resigns

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The downtown representative of the Charleston County School Board has resigned from her position after accepting a job in Columbia.

Toya Hampton Green has accepted a position with the South Carolina School Boards Association, according to Director of Communications Debbie Elmore.

Elmore said Green, an attorney, will serve as the Director of Policy and Legal Services.

The exact starting date of her new position is unknown.  Green's seat will be up for election in November.
