CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission will hold a meeting to discuss the design plans for a downtown skate park next month.
The public meeting will take place at James Island County Park's Edisto Hall on September 12 at 6 p.m. It will immediately be followed by a design workshop at 7 p.m.
The site of the proposed skate park will be near the intersection of Meeting and Huger Streets. The Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission, along with the City of Charleston and the skate park design team have been working on the project since November 2011.
The 6 p.m. meeting will include a brief presentation about the skate park, followed by a question and answer period.
At 7 p.m., Representatives from Team Pain will discuss design concepts for the skate park, as well as listen to additional design ideas from the public.
Team Pain is the consulting firm designing the skate park.
Doors will open at 5:45 p.m. for the 6 p.m. meeting.
