Charleston County smoking ban passes second reading

CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Charleston County council passed the second reading of a proposed smoking ban Tuesday night.

The ban would cover bars and restaurants in the county that are not governed by city regulations.

The measure still needs to be passed by county council one more time before businesses will have to put an end to indoor smoking.

The Finance Committee of Charleston County approved the measure this past July that would ban smoking in bars and restaurants in unincorporated areas.
