Officials to discuss feral dog problem on James Island

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

The Charleston County Sheriff's Office will hold a press conference Thursday afternoon to provide new information on their efforts to address the feral dog issues plaguing parts of James Island.

Officials with the Charleston Animal Society, Charleston City Police Animal Control, Pet Helpers and the Town of James Island will also be present at the 4 p.m. press conference..

Information on current trapping efforts, spay and neuter and rabies clinics, and safeguards residents can take to assist authorities in reducing the problem in the area are expected to be discussed.

The press conference will be held at the Charleston County Sheriff's Office headquarters.
