School bus driver issued ticket after striking car, leaving scene

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston Police Department issued a ticket for careless driving to a 26-year-old woman after authorities say she struck a car with a school bus and left the scene.

On Thursday morning, a school bus was traveling on Wilson Street and was making a turn onto Beaufain Street, when the rear of the bus struck a car, according to police.

Police say the bus driver did not realize she had struck the vehicle and continued on.

Authorities estimated the damage to the car at $2,000.
