SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - Berkeley County Sheriff's Office officials say the man charged with last week's burglary at Money Man Pawn in Summerville was seen casually walking away from the scene by the first deputy who arrived.
According to an incident report, 27-year-old Deniro Mikell was seen walking away from the business last Friday when the first deputy arrived on scene around 6:30 a.m. When the deputy tried to speak with Mikell, the report states the suspect ignored him and kept walking down Farmington Road towards Tomacka Drive.
That deputy then maintained surveillance while requesting backup, and when other deputies arrived shortly, Mikell started to run. He was apprehended after a brief foot chase, deputies said.
Deputies said they found a hole in the right-front portion of the fence surrounding the property. Near that hole, they found four guns and a black trash bag on the ground.
Inside the bag, deputies found 25 rings, ten bracelets, and five watches valued at roughly $9,000.
All of the stolen property was recovered.
Mikell is charged with burglary.
