Police investigating Monday night shooting in Summerville

SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - The Summerville Police Department is investigating a Monday night shooting that sent one victim to the hospital.

Officials say police were called to the Kangaroo gas station located at 1365 Boonehill Road Monday at 10:15 p.m.

According to a report, an unknown person ran into the gas station and told the clerk his friend had been shot.

Police say the victim was shot in the back while inside the car.

Authorities say the victim was taken to MUSC where he was treated and released.

It is current unknown where the shooting took place.
