New supplies roll in for damaged teacher supply store

WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - Teacher Supply Closet workers are thankful for a dry morning as they got in a new shipment of school supplies.

Tuesday's rain caused the roof to leak at the non profit on Sam Rittenberg in West Ashley.

They say a drain backed up causing water to come into their warehouse soaking some of their supplies.

"Today, we're getting a disaster clean up crew in," said Deborah Halon. "And hopefully an electrician to make sure we're safe, and we're going to start cleaning it up."

They're hoping that teachers will be able to start registering for supplies in the next two weeks then start shopping at the end of next month.
