CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The U.S. Marshals Task Force has arrested a 21-year-old North Charleston man who authorities say was on probation when he committed an armed robbery in downtown.
The Charleston Police Department charged Malcolm Jerome Washington with armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime. Police say Washington is on probation for strong arm robbery.
Authorities arrested Washington at a home on Meeting Street on Thursday.
Washington is accused of a Aug. 12 robbery on Morris street where the victim was robbed of his iPhone and his wallet by a man armed with a handgun.
Washington was locked up at the Al Cannon Detention Center.
