Funeral arrangements set for women found shot to death in forest

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Funeral arrangements have been set for 18-year-old Dana Marie Woods and 22-year-old June Guerry whose bodies were found in the Francis Marion Forest.

Woods' funeral will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1 at the Chapel of Dial-Murray Funeral Home in Moncks Corner. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday evening. Woods was a delivery driver for Papa John's Pizza and a student at Trident Technical College.

Guerry's funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 2 at the Taylor Cemetery in Macedonia. The family will receive friends at the Chapel of Dial-Murray Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday evening.

Guerry was a clerk at the Walmart in Moncks Corner.

The coroner confirmed early Wednesday morning, that Woods' body was found shot about 75 yards from her charred car in the Francis Marion Forest in Cordesville.

On Thursday, the coroner's office confirmed that another body found in the forest on Wednesday was that of 22-year-old June Guerry, who was last seen with Woods on Sunday night at a home in Pinopolis.

Authorities are continuing the investigation.
