NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - North Charleston police have arrested a 19-year-old man who they say was involved in a murder that occurred in May.
Devon Reshad Wilson was arrested Thursday night without incident. Police say Wilson played a role in the murder of a North Charleston man on May 12, 2012 after a botched drug deal.
Wilson has been charged with murder, attempted murder, attempted armed robbery, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.
According to a report, police were called to 4640 Purcell Drive on May 12 at 12:06 a.m. after gunshots were heard in the area.
North Charleston Police Department officers say Wilson and Andre Manigualt, 23, arrived at the location to conduct a drug transaction with 31-year-old Brian Johnson and 33-year-old John Bradley when shots were fired.
Manigualt was killed and Johnson was found shot in the leg at the scene. Johnson was taken to MUSC for treatment.
Following an investigation, officers charged Bradley and Wilson with conspiracy to violate SC narcotics law.
At the time of the incident, police did not know who actually shot Manigualt and Johnson.
Wilson is scheduled to attend bond court this afternoon.
