Ovie Mughelli was released by the Rams on Friday afternoon as teams cut their rosters down to 52.
Mughelli was signed by the Rams to a 1 year deal earlier in the summer.
He said on his Twitter account "What's up everyone rams released me today. I had a great time in st louis but evidently its not in gods plan for me."
The Porter-Gaud alum had spent the last 5 years of his career in Atlanta until his 2011 season was cut short after tearing his ACL in Week 7. Before that he had gone to the Pro Bowl as the NFC Fullback in 2010.

Berkeley alum Omar Brown who was cut by the Baltimore Ravens according to the Baltimore Sun. Brown was undrafted out of Marshall this year and signed with Baltimore as a free agent.
Clifton Geathers, a former Gamecocks DE, was released by the Cowboys. He'd been with the team since December of 2010. He also spent time with the Seattle Seahawks, Miami Dolphins and Cleveland Browns who made him a 6th round pick in 2010.
The Green Bay Packers cut ties with former Gamecocks WR Tori Gurley. He spent last season on their practice squad after going undrafted in 2011.
Former Gamecocks punter Spencer Lanning was released by the New York Jets, just 3 days after the team signed him. He had been let go by the Browns earlier in the week.
