MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) -

Investigators have arrested a 19-year-old North Carolina man accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl at a community pool at a Mount Pleasant neighborhood.

The Mount Pleasant Police Department charged Kevin Guevara Alarcon of Havlock, NC with second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor.

Around 6:32 a.m. on Monday, police responded to the Park West Amenity Center on Park West Boulevard in regards to a sexual assault. The complainant told police two juveniles snuck out of the house during the evening and went to the Park West Amenity Center where they met several male subjects.

According to the complainant, when both of the juveniles returned, one of the juveniles told the complainant her 14-year-old friend was sexually assaulted by one of the males while they were at the pool.

The complainant then took the girl home and called police.

The victim told authorities that she was hanging out and swimming at one of the pools and the sexual assault happened at another pool on the property. Investigators then secured both pools until crime scene could arrive.

According to an affidavit, the victim told her mother she complied with the suspect's sexual advances out of fear of being physically assaulted. The juvenile said Alarcon had sexual intercourse with her while at the pool.
