WADMALAW ISLAND, SC (WCSC) -
The Charleston County Sheriff's Office arrested a teen early Thursday after they say he stabbed and carjacked an acquaintance as they were leaving a friend's house on Wadmalaw Island.
Major Jim Brady said deputies responded to 3581 Spence Drive on Johns Island after receiving reports of a stabbing and carjacking.
Upon arrival, the 21-year-old male victim told deputies he and 18-year-old Carlton L. Solomon Jr. were leaving a friend's residence on Sadie Lane on Wadmalaw Island in the victim's 1997 Toyota Avalon when Solomon stabbed him twice in the chest with an unknown weapon.
The victim said after he was stabbed, he crawled out of the vehicle before Solomon slid over to the driver's seat and stole the victim's car.
Brady said as deputies patrolled the area, the victim's vehicle was located abandoned off of Rewes Lane. Solomon Jr was subsequently located at his nearby residence on Langston Drive and was arrested.
Solomon was taken to the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center and charged with attempted murder and carjacking. He is scheduled to appear in bond court Thursday night at 8 p.m.
