MT. PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - Improvements for the Johnnie Dodds Blvd. Project will continue tonight as construction will begin on two Mt. Pleasant Roads.
Construction on Mathis Ferry Road and Wingo Way will start at 8 p.m. Friday night and run though Monday morning, September 10. Crews will be working on the roads nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
The following information was released by Charleston County officials:
- Traffic on Mathis Ferry Road will be shifted to one side of the road, and Wingo Way will be closed from Mathis Ferry to Grands Avenue.
- Signs will direct drivers to a detour on McGrath Darby Boulevard.
- Drivers will still have access to hotels along Wingo Way.
- The work is being conducted at night in an effort to reduce impact on drivers. The construction is necessary for crews to place asphalt on Mathis Ferry Road.
If bad weather disrupts construction crews this weekend due to bad weather, the closure will continue until the work is completed.
