Authorities identify suspect in fatal Colleton Co. nightclub shooting

COLLETON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting at a club in Colleton County that took the life of a 34-year-old man.

The Colleton County Coroner's Office says Moray Dupree Holmes of Walterboro died Thursday night following a shooting that happened just before 10 p.m. outside the Chase Lounge on Rivers Street.

Officials say Holmes was taken to Colleton Regional Hospital before deputies could arrive at the club. He was pronounced dead at the hospital as a result of several gunshot wounds.

Deputies say they are searching for Quotteas Sylvester Nesbitt, who was identified as the shooter.

According to a report, the suspect left the scene immediately after the shooting.

Newbitt has criminal warrants for murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. He should be considered armed and dangerous.
