GEORGETOWN, SC (WCSC) - Investigators say a neighborhood burglar was arrested Thursday afternoon near his home after attempting to get away from deputies following a burglary at a Georgetown neighborhood.
The Georgetown County Sheriff's Office charged 30-year-old Cicero Manual Lambert of Georgetown with four counts of second-degree burglary.
It all started when deputies responded to a home on Windsong Drive in the Lamberton community. Deputies were told that a suspect forced entry into the home and was seen by relatives of the homeowner inside the home.
Authorities say the suspect then left the home through the rear door and ran into a wooded area. Deputies began to canvass the area and located a suspect matching the description given by witnesses.
According to the sheriff's office, the suspect was located hiding in the woods near his home in an attempt to elude deputies.
Investigators say as a result of Lambert's arrest, it was determined that he was responsible for three other burglaries in the community.
Lambert was locked up at the Georgetown County Detention Center.
