Firefighters put out blaze at a vacant home in West Ashley

WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston Fire Department is investigating a fire that occurred Sunday afternoon at a vacant home in West Ashley.

Firefighters were called out to the 1600 block of Balsam Street at around 12:17 p.m. Fire officials say the fire started in a backroom at the home.

Authorities say fire crews were able to quickly put out the blaze.

Fire officials say no one was hurt in the blaze and that the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

St. Andrews Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
