WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - Investigators are looking for the people responsible for spray painting graffiti at a West Ashley synagogue causing nearly $1,000 worth of damage.

Last Tuesday, the Charleston Police Department responded to the Synagogue Emanuel Conservative Congregation on 5 Windsor Dr. in reference to vandalism.

An employee at the synagogue said that sometime between the afternoon of Sept. 1 and the morning of Sept. 4, someone vandalized the outside wall of the synagogue.

Investigators found the graffiti near the rear of the building.

A police report states that the suspects wrote,"Free My (expletive)...(expletive) Da Police & FBI..." and additional unreadable phrases on the wall.

Authorities are continuing the investigation.
