JOHNS ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - Authorities with the Charleston County Sheriff's Office say they have arrested a man who was found driving under suspension after leading deputies on a car chase on Johns Island early Tuesday morning.
Investigators charged Jason Ray Wilson of Johns Island with reckless driving, driving under suspension first offense and failure to stop for blue lights.
Around 4:17 a.m., a deputy was attempting to stop a Volkswagen Jetta on Plowground Road.
According to the sheriff's office, the driver was suspected to be involved in a disturbance from earlier in the evening. The sheriff's office say they used stop sticks on Wilson's vehicle after he failed to stop for deputies.
An incident report states that Wilson got out of the vehicle after it came to a stop on Chisolm Road. Deputies say Wilson was then captured and taken into custody.
Wilson has been arrested before for criminal domestic violence domestic violence, unlawful conduct toward a child and unlawful neglect of child.
According to court records, in 2003, Wilson was ordered to undergo mental evaluation after being arrested and charged with unlawful conduct toward a child.
