Mt. Pleasant council approves annexation of Oyster Point

MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - Mount Pleasant town council voted unanimously Tuesday night to annex several hundred acres of land targeted for development.

The annexation is for an area of land near Six Mile Road and North Palmetto Fort Drive which is to be called Oyster Point.

The plans call for 600 homes, along with marsh and trail access points.

Sewer, water and public safety protection will now become Mt. Pleasant's responsibility since the annexation has been approved.
