DORCHESTER COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Investigators seized 100 marijuana plants worth $100,000 at an abandoned home in Dorchester County on Tuesday.
The Dorchester County Sheriff's Office says the plants were found at home on White House Lane in the Reevesville area.
The sheriff's office had received an anonymous complaint about marijuana plants growing at the home. According to the tip, the marijuana was growing behind a mobile home that could be seen from a power line access at the back of the home.
Detectives say they saw the plants from the power line access and made contact with the land owner who gave authorities consent to search the property.
Investigators with the sheriff's office and the Summerville Police Department then executed a search warrant at the home. Authorities say several of the plants had already been harvested and were drying out in the abandoned home.
Officials with the sheriff's office say they have a suspect in the case and will be pursuing charges.
