Brett Gardner, OF, NY Yankees – 60-Day DL with a sore right elbow. The Holly Hill native underwent arthroscopic surgery and should miss the rest of the season. He played 9 games batting .321 with 2 RBI and 2 SB's

Matt Wieters, C, Baltimore Orioles – 2-3 with a double (23), an RBI, a walk and a K in a 3-2 win over Tampa Bay. The Stratford alum is batting .247 with 19 HR's, 74 RBI

Justin Smoak, 1B, Seattle Mariners – Came in as a defensive replacement in a 3-2 win over Toronto. The Goose Creek native is batting .189 with 14 HR's and 41 RBI in the Majors and .242 with 4 RBI in Triple-A.

Justin Greene, OF, Charlotte (Chicago White Sox) - The Stratford alum's season is over.

Triple-A: Batted .238 in 56 games with 6 HR's, 25 RBI and 12 stolen bases.

Double-A: Batted .281 in 39 games with 2 HR's, 13 RBI and 14 stolen bases.

John Cornely, RP,  Lynchburg (Atlanta Braves) – Pitched 3 innings giving up 0 hits, 0 runs with walks and 7 K's earning his 2nd win of the postseason in a 5-4 win over Winston-Salem giving Lynchburg a 3-1 series win of the Mills Cup Championship Series 

High Single-A: 1 save, a 0.00 ERA and 13 K's in 7.1 innings

Single-A: 1-3 with 2 holds, 7 saves, a 3.51 ERA and 81 K's in 51.1 IP
