Brothers charged for another Summerville armed robbery

SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - Two brothers who are locked up for an armed robbery at a Subway in Summerville have now been charged in another holdup at a Little Caesars.

According to the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office, Melvin and Carroll Mack were charged Wednesday with the armed robbery of the Little Caesars on 1001 Bacons Bridge Road that happened earlier this month.

On the night of Sept. 5, employees were closing the restaurant when two suspects armed with guns appeared and demanded money. Deputies say one of the gunmen collected money, keys and cell phones from the victims, while the other suspect forced an employee back inside to collect money from the safe.

The suspects then took off on foot.

The Summerville Police Department originally arrested the brothers for an armed robbery at a Subway in Summerville on Tuesday.

Police say Melvin Mack entered the Subway on 975 Bacons Bridge Road while two employees were leaving. Employees told officers that Mack forced them into the store and demanded they open the safe.

According to the victims, Mack then left the restaurant with money taken from the safe. A police report states that Mack's brother, Carroll, was outside of the store during the robbery. No employees were injured during the robbery.

The Summerville Police Department charged Melvin Mack with robbery while armed with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm during a violent crime and kidnapping. Carroll Mack was charged with robbery while armed with a deadly weapon.

The brothers were locked up at the Dorchester County Detention Center.
