Fatal nightclub shooting suspect surrenders to deputies

COLLETON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - The Colleton County Sheriff's Office says a 34-year-old man suspected of a fatal shooting at a nightclub in Colleton County surrendered to authorities Thursday night.

Investigators say Quoteas Nesbitt turned himself in and was locked up at the Colleton County Detention Center.

The Colleton County Coroner's Office says Moray Dupree Holmes of Walterboro died last Thursday night following a shooting that happened just before 10 p.m. outside the Chase Lounge on Rivers Street.

Officials say Holmes was taken to Colleton Regional Hospital before deputies could arrive at the club. He was pronounced dead at the hospital as a result of several gunshot wounds.

Deputies say Nesbitt was identified as the shooter.

According to a report, the suspect left the scene immediately after the shooting.

Nesbitt had criminal warrants for murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
