CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston police arrested two men yesterday after a search warrant led to the discovery of roughly 132 grams of marijuana.
Seth Hassan Smith, 31, and Bryant Michael Smith, 27, were both arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
According to a report, investigators initiated a search warrant at Urban Unlimited on 98 Spring Street on Thursday, September 13 at 1:45 p.m. Once inside, officers arrested Bryant and Seth Smith, along with a third suspect who was later released.
Investigators say they searched the store and seized 132 grams of marijuana located throughout the store and an additional storage room. Officers also confiscated a number of items, including clothing, electronics and money.
A report states that 7.5 grams of marijuana, along with nearly $600 in cash were found in Seth Smith's pockets.
Officers say they found a key ring sitting near Seth Smith, but he denied they were his. Investigators later discovered it was Seth Smith's key ring, as it contained keys that opened his car - a Chevrolet HHR that he was known to drive - and keys to an apartment that was linked to the investigation.
Police say they also performed a search warrant at an apartment located at 3-B Oliver Ct. Seth Smith claimed he no longer lived there and that his uncle now stayed at the apartment. Police say Seth Smith later told officers he may have a "dimebag" at the apartment.
According to a report, Seth Smith was additionally charged with possession of a stolen handgun, three counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and an additional count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana in relation to a previous case.
Bryant Smith is listed on an incident report as the owner of the downtown Urban Unlimited store.
