Trident Technical College gets $1 million donation

North Charleston, SC (AP) -

Trident Technical College has received a $1 million donation from Charleston philanthropist Anita Zucker.

According to media reports, the chairwoman and chief operating officer of The InterTech Group has a lot in common with community college students.

Zucker worked her way through Santa Fe College in Gainesville, Fla., before graduating from the University of Florida.

She says $900,000 of the money will be used to improve technology infrastructure at Trident, the rest to create a scholarship.
